My mother-in-law Barb has a couple of really yummy signature dishes, and this Egg Bake is one of them! It's so easy to manipulate by using different proteins or carbs. I hope you try this and love it!
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 40 Minutes Ready In: 55 Minutes
Yields: 8 servings
INGREDIENTS:
• 6 slices white bread, torn into 1/2-inch cubes
• 1 pound bulk pork sausage, bacon or ham
• 4 eggs, beaten
• 3 cups milk
• Salt/pepper to taste
• ¾ teaspoon dry mustard
• 2 teaspoons dry parsley (optional)
• 2 c. shredded Cheddar (or mexi blend) cheese
DIRECTIONS:
• Tear bread into pieces and put in a greased 8X8 baking dish
• In a skillet, brown and crumble meat; drain and set aside.
• In a large bowl, beat eggs; add milk, salt/pepper and mustard
• Add, cheese and sausage.
• Pour over bread; cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
• Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
• Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
