Hot Chicken Salad

Ohhh - this is sooooo gooooood! Chicken-y, crunch-y, hot and delicious! It's my mom's recipe, and everything she makes is good.

Mix together:
4 whole chicken breasts, cooked and cut into 1" slices
3 hard-cooked eggs, sliced
1/2 can creamed chicken soup
2 c. finely cut celery
1 c/ sour cream
4-oz can mushroom pieces, drained
1/2 c. slivered almonds, lightly roasted
2 T. minced onion
2 T. lemon juice
1 T. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper (scant 1/4 tsp.)
1 c. mayonnaise (we used Hellman's)
1 can water chestnuts, drained, sliced, slivered

Turn mixed ingredients into 9 X 13" pan.

Top with:
1 c. grated cheddar cheese

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
Sprinkle with: 3 1/2 oz (one small can) of fried onion rings and bake 15 minutes longer
