Pizza Crust/Sauce

From my friend Amanda - not sure of the original source, but they look good!

Pizza Crust – Makes one crust
  • 3.5 C. bread flour
  • 1 pkg. yeast (pizza yeast is preferred)
  • 2 – 2 ½ Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 – 1 ½ C. water
Knead 15 minutes. Allow to rise in warm spot for 2 hours. Punch down. Let sit in fridge for 2 days. May need to punch down if you see it rising in fridge.
 
 
 
Pizza Sauce (makes a lot. Amanda froze several jars of it from one recipe.)
 
  • 1 large can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 small tomato paste
  • 3 – 4 Tbsp. red wine
  • 2 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar – maybe less
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • Oregano/basil/black pepper to taste
Mix and simmer together. Make the day before for better flavor.
